E.M.G. has a two speed asynchronous single-phase motors series particularly designed for coupling with centrifugal pumps. Their excellent performance at both speeds allows to the user a greater range of duty for the driven pump. They have high reliability and high strength. They are available in MEC 71, 80 and MEC 90 sizes.
Their series name is MP2/4 referring to the following meaning of the symbols:
 

MP : Single-phase for Pumps;

The electrical data are not available for this kind of motors because they depend on the pump coupled to the motor.
E.M.G. laboratories have a computer aided system for the test of centrifugal pumps at the customers request.
Thanks to the integration of the motor electrical data to the pump mechanical data measured, it is possible to have a complete check of the pump-motor system and to guarantee the best design of the motor. When required it is possible to give the pump operative curves to the customer.
